About
Our Story Begins In The East
Born in Manila, Philippines, Chef Lorry immigrated to the U.S. with her mother and younger brother at the age of 4. They settled in South Lake Tahoe with her lola (grandma) who worked as a seamstress for Joseph Mangin Co.
About five years later, she, her brother and mother moved to southern Nevada where she would later graduate high school and study at UNLV majoring in Psychology. She also learned the ins and outs of operating a restaurant and lounge as co-owner of her family’s New Manila Restaurant in Las Vegas from 1992 to 2001.
More recently, Lorry and husband Todd owned and operated Bubba Q’d, a Filipino BBQ food truck. Bubba Q’d successfully served patrons of the Reno Aloha Festival, Las Vegas Bike Fest, Pahrump Balloon Festival, EDC Las Vegas, and NASCAR Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The fruits of her success at Bubba Q'd have led her and her husband to again share her passion of preparing delicious food at Lolo's Authentic Filipino Cuisine. .
"Mabuhay"
Lolo's Authentic Filipino Cuisine is based on the cooking style Lorry learned from her lola and lolo. This style is known as Kapampangan.
